Leases are normally used for the purchase of capital equipment, where the lease payments represent a large proportion of the purchase price (usually at least 80% of cost). In these cases the average contract length is normally three to five years, after which time the company may exercise a purchase option to buy the product outright. Many banks in Spain offer this product.
